Top 10 Most Googled People of 2017 in Pakistan | Pak Seekers

Here is the list of all those celebrities that is top searched in 2017 in Pakistan. While Google’s most-searched topics around the world this year ranged from Hurricane Irma and Bitcoin prices, in Pakistan, as usual, top searches for people mostly included models and celebrities.

Apart from the occasional cricket related name, the list is filled with Pakistani actresses. No political figure made it to the list this year.

1. Fabiha Sherazi

Fabiha Sherazi is a model who is known because of her appearance in Pakistan’s most favorite game show ‘Jeeto Pakistan’ which is hosted by Fahad Mustafa and is aired on ARY Digital. Because of her daily appearance in the game show she has become a known figure all over Pakistan. Being a model and knowing the basics of fashion has also helped her to retain her position in the game show.

Fabiha started her career as a model and recently worked for Asif Noor’s collection but despite her wide portfolio she is still known because of the Game Show. The only thing which is commonly known from her biography is her role in Jeeto Pakistan.

Her profiling is based on social media sensation which also made a normal tea vendor Arshad (Chai Wala) a star within few hours. It is believed that the fame she received is also because of social media.

2. Nadeem Sarwar

Nadeem Sarwar is a well known name amongst Shia not only in Indian Subcontinent but also across Asia, Africa, Europe and America.

He has so far released 29 Volume of Nauha Cassette and CDs from 1983 - 2009. Most of the Nauhas recited by him are "Kalaam" of famous Pakistani Poet Rehan Azmi. He also has been successful in using Kalaams of famous poets like Mir Anis and Mirza Dabeer.

3. Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman (Urdu/Pashto: فخر زمان‎; born 10 April 1990) is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the national team. He has also played for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League. In August 2017, he was named in Durban Qalandars' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa postponed the tournament until November 2018. Zaman was born in Katlang in the Mardan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He moved to Karachi at the age of 16 following matriculation. In 2007, Zaman joined the Pakistan Navy as a sailor after receiving his schooling and training at sea from the Pakistan Navy School, Bahadur. His choice of career was persuaded by his father, who was dissuaded by Fakhar's childhood addiction to cricket and wanted his son to focus on his academics. The name Fakhar literally translates to "pride". Amongst his teammates, he is known by the nickname fauji (soldier).

In Karachi, Zaman continued playing cricket occasionally in inter-departmental matches, including representations for the Pakistan Navy cricket team. He was first identified by his navy coach, Azam Khan, who encouraged him to pursue professional cricket. In 2013, he left his naval career after a "tough decision" in pursuit of this dream and began appearing for regional outfits like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abbottabad Falcons, Balochistan and several Karachi teams. He became the second-highest run scorer in the 2016 Pakistan Cup and also impressed selectors in the 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He was also picked by the Lahore Qalandars side for the 2017 Pakistan Super League, where he was closely mentored by New Zealand player Brendon McCullum. He was soon noticed by Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur during a training camp in Lahore, following which he earned a call-up for the national side.

Momina Mustehsan (born 5 September 1992) is a Pakistani singer-songwriter. She rose to prominence as a co-singer and writer in Farhan Saeed's single "Pee Jaun", and recorded her first studio song "Sajna" for Junoon's album Junoon 20.

Mustehsan's claim to fame came later, when in 2016 she marked her Coke Studio debut as a featured artist in season 9, where she performed a rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's "Afreen Afreen", with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and received critical appraisal. Following her debut, she became one of the most sought-out media personalities in Pakistan, and the song became one of the most viewed songs of Coke Studio.
